COLD MIX MANUFACTURING
Cold Mix Manufacturing (CMM) was established in February of 2007 by a partnership between a group of asphalt industry leaders in the NYC and Westchester regions who invested key resources to sustain this 150,000. sq. ft. processing and distribution facility. The mission behind CMM is to produce a more competitive and cost-effective road repair product while driving a dedicated research and development campaign toward advanced innovation in high-performance materials for the road repair industry.
With the recent expansion of the GREEN industry initiatives plus the rising pressures from the health & environmental agencies about the many hazards of conventional cold patch, CMM accepted the challenge to revolutionize the toxic elements of the industry. By targetting the reduction of VOC levels (Volatile Organic Compounds) and reconfiguring the ingredients of cold mix from the diesel base to all-natural substrates, they developed the first eco-friendly asphalt patch called GREENPATCH.
The results are as dramatic as they are instant. CMM and Greenpatch was praised by the media, environmental groups and legislators for developing this 'responsible solution'. Major utility and road construction companies have now accepted GreenPatch as the preferred asphalt repair material. Within two short years, CMM has won countless contracts in New York, New Jersey and the New England states. CMM is also advancing its market presence with established partnerships in Indiana, Illinois, Florida, Washington and California from their Asphalt Manufacturing Partnership Program (AMP)- allowing nationwide access and distribution of GreenPatch.
AFFILIATIONS
Cold Mix Manufacturing has established their industry presence and business community support with trade organizations such as NAPA (National Asphalt Pavement Association) and APWA (American Public Works Association). Since the public induction of eco-friendly GreenPatch, CMM has also developed a strong membership drive with the US Green Building Council and has recently earned the first product endorsement by the National Green Energy Council.
DARIO AMICUCCI
President / CEO
Founder of Cold Mix Manufacturing in Flushing NY- (the developer and producer of GreenPatch) since February, 2007. His objectives range from establishing a strong regional market presence in the cold asphalt industry while maintaining all corporate and developmental matters from day-to-day operations to the supervision of sales and marketing efforts. His extensive background in the asphalt manufacturing trade provides valuable leadership in areas of distribution, packaging, promotion and partnership development.
Dario is also the current plant operations manager of Cofire Industries since 2005 where he advanced the company's business into a $6 million/ year operation.
GLENN SHAPIRO
Vice President of Business Development
Joined in September 2007, his first project was to advance GreenPatch™ as an unprecedented “green” alternative in the road paving industry. GreenPatch™, an eco-friendly cold mix asphalt developed at the company’s state-of-the-art laboratories, uses biodegradable, renewable, organic, plant-based solvents as opposed to petroleum derivative cutbacks used in conventional cold mix (which is used in temporary and permanent pothole and other roadway repairs).
Before 2007, Glenn served as Senior Project Manager at a commercial construction firm in Florida. While working for seven years in a very eco-sensitive environment, he developed a greater awareness and interest in ‘green’ building and manufacturing. It was a natural career transition from commercial development to the asphalt industry, particularly with a product like GreenPatch, where he could develop green business initiatives and address the asphalt industry’s mandate to become more environment-conscious.
Glenn also served as Vice President of business development in the Commodities division at Cargill, a major agricultural firm where he became an expert in agricultural markets and products. Prior, he served as Vice President of business development at Merrill Lynch, where he completed a rigorous two-year advanced management program at the Merrill Lynch Six Sigma Academy.
MELANIE MACKENZIE
Director of Communications
Melanie has been with CMM since May of 2008- managing all public materials, presentations, industry events, and supervising the multimedia and newsletter staff. She also publishes educational materials and current information on the toxic nature of conventional road repair materials vs. the smart, eco-conscious alternatives of GreenPatch.
With an extensive background in political science, Melanie is most active presenting on local, state and national government levels and providing educational forums to parents and educational leaders. She conducts an outeach program to city mayors, school superintendents, environmental groups and the local hardware store- announcing GreenPatch as "the new green solution" that cares about the environment, public health, product performance and cost effectiveness.
Melanie's grassroots campaign to promote an environmentally friendly company on a community level aligns with raising two young children whereas educating the public on how to create a greener future for the children’s generation is a "natural and perfect fit".
Prior to joining CMM, Melanie worked for Newsweek and Teen People magazine’s public relations departments.
